Iran Summons Austrian Chargé d’Affaires After Its Delegation Is Barred From IAEA Meeting

Al-Taj News –

Iran announced on Monday that it had summoned the Austrian chargé d’affaires after his government refused to allow the head of the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran, Mohammad Eslami, to enter the country to participate in an International Atomic Energy Agency meeting in Vienna.

Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmaeil Baghaei considered Vienna’s refusal to “issue visas for the delegation of the Islamic Republic of Iran an entirely unjustifiable decision.”

He added: “It is clear to us that this incident occurred under U.S. pressure, but that does not absolve the Austrian government of responsibility.”
